What are cross-lock tweezers?
Cross lock tweezers perform the same function and appear similar in design to regular tweezers, the difference being they open when you squeeze them!
Cross lock tweezers work in the same way as regular tweezers, in that the memory of the metal shaft provides the springiness needed to operate. However, the main shafts on cross lock tweezers cross over each other somewhere between the handle and the grip, meaning that when pressure is applied, the tweezers open. On regular tweezers, the same exerted pressure would be used to grip, not release.
The usefulness of such tweezers is particularly noticed when soldering, as the tool becomes like a miniature helping hand tool. And as any soldering savvy modeller will know, any help or extra pair of hands is always an advantage.
