What is the internal gluing technique?
The internal gluing technique is a common practice employed by modellers to avoid glue being extruded from between parts as they're married together.
The process is simpler than it sounds and involves modellers temporarily dry-clamping or bracing parts together using anything from elastic bands to masking tape, anything to hand will do just as long as it doesn't damage the model.
A bead of glue is then applied along the unseen internal seam of the parts. The use of a thinner glue or a long applicator is beneficial at this stage to help adhesive find its way into the seam through capillary action.
Of course, the internal gluing technique requires access to the internal surfaces to be worked, so is not a solution for every modelling eventuality, but it certainly makes a for a neat and tidy join for those parts that are.
