Metcalfe is a family run business founded during the early 1990s. They produce 00/H0 and N gauge card kits for model railways.
Their range of kits are well known worldwide and are quoted as being "challenging yet rewarding" to construct using little more than a modelling knife and glue.
Influenced by railways in and around Yorkshire, the Metcalfe range covers most buildings big and small that you would expect to find on and around the railway including: full and low relief buildings, pubs, shops, cinemas, station buildings, platforms, churches, goods sheds, signal boxes, footbridges, viaducts, tunnel portals, retaining walls, road/rail bridges, farm buildings, cottages, terraced houses, corner shops, department stores, warehouses, petrol stations, factories, industrial units, fire stations, engine sheds, road/pavement surfaces and much much more!
All the kits are in full colour and very sturdy when built. They do not require reinforcing with cereal boxes like older card kits.
There are other manufacturers out there creating fantastic buildings for model railways, but it's fair to say that Metcalfe is up there with the best of them and their choice is so substantial that you could quite easily build a whole railway world without looking any further.
