How do I create markings on a model road?
Creating road markings on a model roadway may seem like an easy painting task, but no matter how steady your hand is, it's not easy achieving the crispness required to successfully recreate this common highway feature.
If you are one of the lucky few that can paint road markings freehand or with the help of masking tape, crack on, but for everyone else there are a couple of helpful options.
There are two ways to decorate your model road with markings, these are with the use of a stencil or dry-rub transfers.
A good stencil kit to get you started is produced by Noch. Although it's a European kit, there's still plenty of markings that can be used to create a decent British road, and it comes with a bendable ruler to fashion the centre line too.
If you would prefer to use transfers for your road markings, Busch's assorted street markings set is worth a look. Again it's a European set, so don't expect every transfer to be useable, but there's certainly enough to create a credible UK road design.
