Should I use a brush to apply varnish?
When applying varnish to protect a model's paintwork, you should aim for a finish that exhibits the least amount of texture humanly possible as it will likely be your top and most visible coat.
For that reason, it is best to use an airbrush or spray to apply it to your model. These will produce a thin mist of varnish as opposed to a much thicker coverage when using a brush.
If you do not have access to a spray varnish or an airbrush, varnish can be applied with a brush but be sure to apply it in the thinnest coats possible to avoid texture build up.
