What are self-closing tweezers?
Self-closing tweezers are regular tweezers but their default position is closed just like a clothes peg.
There is nothing complicated about their design though, in fact, self-closing tweezers are more straightforward than a clothes peg with no separate parts or springs. The tweezers are moulded from one piece of metal bent in such a way that the metal's memory brings its pincers back together.
The tool is most useful for undertaking tasks such as soldering, it does this by holding the wires in place whilst you take care of business.
More elaborate versions of self-closing tweezers are available, including one with a stand which makes it more akin to a helping hand tool but with a cheaper price tag.
Self-closing tweezers are a very useful tool, but it is worth remembering that they are only tweezers at the end of the day, so their gripping capacity may not be sufficient for larger tasks.
