The Tri-ang Series 3 Track refers to a type of model railway track produced by the Tri-ang Railways company. Tri-ang Railways was a British manufacturer of model railways, famous for its production of affordable and widely available model train sets in the mid-20th century.
The Series 3 Track was part of the company's range of model railway tracks and accessories. It was introduced in the late 1950s as an improvement over earlier versions, offering enhanced features and compatibility with Tri-ang's model trains. The track system typically consisted of metal rails mounted on plastic sleepers, allowing for easy assembly and disassembly to create various layouts for model train enthusiasts.
While modern rolling stock may run on it, it is not recommended as the old track is likely to be slightly rusted or damaged. The track is also oversize (about code 150 compared to code 100 for current track) and not as realistic as current offerings from Peco and Hornby.
