What are snips?
The word 'snips' is an interchangeable term used in the world of scale modelling to describe a selection of tools designed to cut a variety of component types including metal, plastic and resin items.
The term 'snips' can be said to include tools used in a variety of modelling tasks such as side cutters and sprue cutters. Most examples will be similar in configuration to a pair of shears but on a smaller scale. They often have a larger handle in relation to the size of the cutting surfaces offering a high torque cutting mechanism, often with a spring-loaded mechanism for ease of use.
Be aware that the term is often used generically, so if you need a pair of 'snips' for a particular project or reason, make sure you read the pack before purchase to ensure your new tool is sufficient for the job at hand!
