What height should my model layout be?
When deciding what height to build your baseboard, there is no ultimate correct answer, only considerations that you should be thinking about whilst planning the build.
The height that your baseboard should be will invariably be a mixture of preference and practicality. Your preference will relate to what height you would like to view the layout from once it is completed, this could be anywhere from eye-level to the usual bird's eye view, however, practicality will usually prevail as a layout at eye-level would be incredibly difficult to work on.
The usual height of a baseboard is around waist height. This will allow you to work on the layout without incurring too much backache whilst allowing you good access underneath for wiring and if you want to view the layout at eye-level then you can always sit on a really small stool. But ultimately, the decision is yours.
