What are Seafoam trees?
Seafoam trees are a natural product for modelling trees in any gauge between OO and Z.
Seafoam comes from a plant that grows in such a way that it closely resembles tree structures. Seafoam can be used straight from the box to represent the kind of smallish trees commonly found on an embankment, at a roadside or other public place. Alternatively, it can be used to dress tree armatures to create a larger showpiece.
The box comes with a single mass of Seafoam inside and it's up to the modeller to select specimens of a suitable size and shape to create their trees the way they want, hence the product being non-gauge specific.
Full instructions are usually printed on the box to help modellers create trees of different types by adding scatter, often with very convincing results.
Being a natural product, seafoam trees don't make for the strongest models on the market, so it's probably better to use them on displays that won't be disturbed, but they can be strengthened if required.
