What is the difference between standard Hornby and Hornby digital?
In recent times, you may have noticed a number of 'Hornby Digital' products appearing on model shop shelves alongside the regular Hornby products that we're so used to seeing, but what are these newfangled shiny objects sent to confuse us?
Hornby Digital is simply Hornby's way of saying that a product is specifically designed to work with model railways that are DCC operated (opposed to analogue). These products could be anything from a controller to a power track, and although most modellers would be able to tell a DCC controller by its appearance, a DCC power track may be harder to spot, so the word digital is added to help you identify their intended use.
If you ever find yourself wondering whether a product is suitable for your layout, please do ask. The staff at model shops are there to help you and providing they have been fed, won't bite either.
