The Scalefour Society is a British organisation dedicated to the promotion and modelling of railways using the 4mm to 1-foot scale (1:76.2) with a track gauge of 18.83mm, commonly known as P4 (Protofour). This scale and gauge combination seeks to create more accurate and realistic railway models by adhering closely to the true proportions and dimensions of the original prototypes.
Founded in 1975, the Society provides resources, support, and a community for modellers who are interested in this precise and detailed aspect of railway modelling. It offers its members access to specialist publications, technical information, and a range of products designed to aid in the construction of accurate models. The Scalefour Society also organises events, exhibitions, and workshops, where members can share knowledge, showcase their work, and collaborate on projects.
Membership in the Scalefour Society is open to anyone with an interest in P4 modelling, from beginners to experienced modellers. By joining, individuals gain access to a wealth of expertise and a community of like-minded enthusiasts dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in railway modelling.
