More info

Paint ties a realistic matte finish.

Transform your track quickly and easily to look as realistic as the rest of your layout. Use before or after installation to paint metal or plastic.

Works for all scales. Includes and extra tip.
1 painter per package - 10mL (0.33 fl oz)

Whatever the scale of your model railway, the task of painting the sides of your rails in order to give a more life-like appearance can be daunting.

There is potential for the paint to get into places where it is not required and if paint gets onto the top surface of the rail, it will severely reduce the reliability of your locomotives.

Removing excess paint from the top of the rails is possible of course, but it saves time and effort if the paint isn’t put there in the first place! One way to ensure that the paint only goes where you want, is to use this paint pen from Woodland Scenics. Rather than having a brush at the business end of the handle, it has a nib. Thus, this tool works more like a pen.

The paint itself is suitable for both metal and plastic, and it can be applied before or after the track is installed on the layout. We would recommend that it is used on pointwork before installation, to enable accurate placement of the paint so as to avoid painting the rails where the point blades (the bits that move) touch the outer rails. These must connect electrically in order to provide power to the frog rails (the v-shape), otherwise you will need to do this some other way. On plain flexible track, we recommend that it is applied after installation.

This is to avoid losing the flexibility of the track. The Track Painter is also available loaded with other colour paints; Steel Rail (WTT4580), and Rusty Rail (WTT4581)
