Dapol 2D-013-003 Class 27 D5415 BR Green Small Yellow Panels. DCC Ready
The Class 27 was a development of the earlier Class 26 Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company (BRCW) design type 2 locomotives, now equipped with the improved 1,250bhp Sulzer 6 cylinder engine. 69 locomotives were built during 1961 and 1962, initially allocated to the Midland region and travelling quite widely, including reaching Gloucester with trains for Bristol and South Wales. By 1969 the Class 27s were being allocated almost exclusively in Scotland where the BRCW locomotives reliability and generally sound design had made them a popular choice for trains over the long and isolated Highland and Far North of Scotland lines. The class was withdrawn from service in 1987, with eight examples in preservation.
The Dapol Class 27 features:
This engine is in "as new" condition with no signs of wear. It has had a light service and been fully tested.
It comes in its original box with the full detailing set
