This is a special edition locomotive with metal parts plated in 18ct gold to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Mallard achieving the world speed record for steam traction on 3rd July 1938 of 126mph on Stoke Bank near Grantham on the East Coast Main Line.
It comes complete with numbered certificate of 5000, a lined presentation box, and in addition, it is supplied with the standard red Hornby box complete with the detail set.
This engine is "as new" and has never been out of the box and is perfect in every way,
