Hornby R2764 Class 67 67018 'Rapid' in EWS livery along with a set of three EWS Coal Wagons. A DCC Sound chip has been fitted (no.3)

A total of thirty Class 67s were constructed for EWS between 1999 and 2000 by Alstom at Meinfesa in Spain. The engine, generator, and traction motors were provided by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, the engine being similar to the one used in the EMD-built Class 66 locomotives. The class was intended for use on express passenger workings as well as on high-speed Royal Mail services, displacing the aging Class 47 locomotives. Following the loss of EWS's Royal Mail contract and the cessation of these services in 2004, the class has found work on a wide variety of passenger, sleeper trains, infrastructure monitoring and freight services.

This locomotive is in excellent condition with no marks or blemishes and all couplers and buffers are in place. It has been converted to DCC +Sound which will need some adjustment to the SV, but starts well enough. it has been fully serviced and tested. It has working headlights.

It comes with set R6367, three EWS Coal Wagons, but equally would have pulled passenger coaches.

A very good introduction to DCC + Sound for a beginner and an interesting project for someone who likes to adjust CV settings.

Comes in its original box in good condition
