One simple way to add variety to your goods wagon fleet is to build some from the many kits on offer. To do so will also add some fun and satisfaction into to your modelling activities. This kit from Peco builds into a 10ft wheelbase 5-plank open wagon based on the Railway Clearing House (RCH) specification of 1887. These wagons were used to carry a wide variety of cargo. Sometimes a tarpaulin was used in an attempt to protect the load from the weather and to hide the load from would-be thieves! In common with the other Peco N gauge wagon kits, everything is included except glue, paint and transfers. The body is one-piece, as is the chassis block, making for quick assembly for which instructions are included. A suitable glue is DLAD-24 Plastic Magic. For paint choose either BR bauxite (RM1235 spray can, RM2235 for brush application), BR early freight grey (RM1322 spray can, RM2322 for brush application), or one of the many authentic rail colours from Railmatch to suit your chosen prototype. Finish off with transfers from the range by Woodland Scenics. Suitable tarpaulins are available from the Roger Smith range, for example ref. TARP200
