Wagon N Iron Ore Tippler BR Ingot Mould

From around 1975, a number of 16-ton mineral wagons were converted for carrying heavy castings used in the steel production industry. These substantial castings were placed on a layer of ballast inside the wagon to cushion and protect the load during transit.

This model represents a typical example from that later period, effectively the swansong of the 16-ton mineral wagon, as the class was gradually phased out of service during the 1980s.

As with others in the series, this all-new tooling model features fine moulded and printed detail, detachable PECO “Elsie” couplers to allow alternative couplings to be fitted if required, and smooth-running metal-tyred wheels for reliable operation on your layout.
