More info

Oxford’s retro Volvo truck represents the Swedish automotive company’s heavy-duty vehicle manufactured between 1965 and 1977. The forward control F88 succeeded the Titan and came with a new Volvo engine, a new 8-speed gearbox and improved chassis and suspension.

Carrying another Scottish favourite livery, Daniel Stewart, pulling one of their refrigerated loads. Registered NGS 675H, it dates from 1965. The cab is painted maroon with a white roof and features Oxford’s small front grille tooling option and an added roof board. The trim is black, apart from a chrome bumper and the cab interior is also black. The fridge trailer is white with a maroon band along the sides with extensive graphics promoting Daniel Stewart’s continental services which the company operates from their Blairgowrie base. The rear also displays the Daniel Stewart contact details and services while the trailer front includes the refrigeration components.

So successful was Daniel Stewart that his company was acquired eventually by that other great refrigeration giant, Christian Salvesen, who not only bought Daniel Stewart’s business and 12 truck fleet but also gave the man himself the Managing Director’s job!
