Sherpa Minibus British Rail
The second livery on the Sherpa Minibus is as used by British Rail, registered GBT 945W from 1980-81. Decorated in British Rail’s signature yellow colour scheme, the double arrow logo is printed in red on the sides with black British Rail graphics alongside.
The Leyland Sherpa was manufactured between 1974 and 1982, originally named the Leyland Van until 1975 when it became the Sherpa. It came in various weights and engine sizes and our Oxford version is based on the SHERPA 200, which is printed on the rear of the model. The Sherpa proved to be very versatile in its day and its bodyshape lent itself not only to van variants but also to crew buses and minibuses.
