Standard colours of Portuguese aircraft since 1980s

After the long and costly Colonial War the Portuguese AF (FAP) urgently required modern aircraft. The successor to the F-86F appeared in 1981 in the form of A-7P Corsair lI (at that time FAP’s role in NATO was Tactical Air Support for Maritime Operations). It also meant introduction of new colours (based on US SEA scheme) onto many FAP aircraft (from elderly Ginas, Alouette IIs / IIIs, Alpha Jets, to the most recent AW101s).

F-16 entered service in 1994 and became FAP's first true interceptor since 1980. In 2010 the first of five P-3C Orions (purchased to replace the six P-3P) entered service in overall Light Gull Grey.

The Red Line is the widest range of water-based acrylics optimised for airbrush on the market – offering more than 330 true colours. All paints are highly pigmented and permanent, specially formulated for use in airbrush. Water-based acrylic paints, produced in accordance with all appropriate EU safety standards, do not include any harmful substances – safe in use and environmentally friendly. Packed in 17ml bottles with dropper tip for easy application and containing a metal ball inside for easier mixing.
