An Alsatian dog has chased a black and white cat, with the latter having jumped atop a large, round hay bale which has resulted in our standoff as the Alsatian is reluctant to mount the hay bale and our enterprising feline is equally reluctant to come down. This is a compact and amusing vignette that would provide an interesting and diverting counterpoint in a diorama, especially in a rural scene. With a little careful thought, it could also be transferred to an urban scenario, minus the hay bale!
