USS Missouri Battleship (WWII)
The U.S.S. Missouri, called Mighty Mo , one of the largest and most powerful battleships of the U.S. Navy, became famous for signing the Japanese surrender documents. The Missouri was the last of four Iowa-class ships , possessing an ideal combination of firepower and speed, and was completed in June 1944. The Missouri's active wartime service ranged from the Iwo Jima landings in February 1945 to the cessation of fighting in September 1945, as well as during the Korean War.
